Rubber Waterstops with Different Materials and Shapes

Rubber waterstop is manufactured from natural rubber and synthetic rubbers with many additives and fillers by the processes of plastication, mixing and compression molding. It can be used in various concrete joints to prevent water leakage and permeation. It has excellent elasticity and it is highly resistant to abrasion, corrosion, aging and tearing. It can adapt to deformation very well and it is resistant to water. It is suitable for the temperature range of -45 °C to +60 °C. Rubber waterstop cannot be used when the temperature exceeds +70 °C and in the conditions where rubber waterstop is oxidized or corroded seriously by organic solvents.

Rubber waterstops, also called rubber water stops, can be divided into many kinds according to materials, such as natural rubber waterstop, neoprene waterstop, nitrile rubber waterstop and EPDM waterstop. Rubber waterstops of different materials are suitable for different conditions. And we can manufacture rubber waterstops according to customers' requirements. Positioning the joint in place

The joint must be unrolled and laid flat, in order to avoid any irregularities. It is important to fix the waterstop profile to the rebar using specific clips or wire.

The joint must be fixed to the steel structure multiple times, so it will stay safely in place when the concrete is cast. When using external waterstop joints it is even more important that the profile does not present wrinkles or deformities that separate it from the ground.

Welding with hot blade

Waterstop joint must form a closed barrier to protect the structure from water, so when using the product is very important to maintain its continuity. When a roll is finished, the end of it must be weld together with the beginning of the next roll.

This is usually achieved with the help of a hot blade, used to melt the two extremities together. It is important to inspect the joint for any irregularities and reheat it with the hot blade if necessary.
